Easily my favorite photo of 2021. This photo has it all: Great car, friends talking, the driver looking at the camera, lights in the background. A great street scene.

I love photos that display groups of people in the background. To me, they add a lot of dynamic to the shot. This is a great example and I enjoy all of the colors.

Trevor Larkin is completely focused in this shot. It’s a capture of someone who is in complete concentration on the task ahead.

Wheels up and the heatwaves coming out the sides in the early evening.

The neighboring dragstrip was closed due to rain showers, however was able to catch a group at a local drift event. The colors contrast well in this shot.

I’m not sure how I did this, but the distance and my focal point makes this shot look like miniature toys. Love the people in the background.

Jeff Jackson in his Ford Mustang on the return road back from a run. Jeff went on to win the event. When I saw him coming back in front of the stands, I just took a quick few shots. This one turned out perfect.

I don’t know the driver name, however this car has shown up in many of my shots. “O’Brien Racing Blow Thru Mob”. Two American flags in the shot and the sun heading down.

Alexis Dejoria is just putting her Funny Car in reverse with her crew member opening the safety hatch. The sun was setting and the contrast in the car color makes it stand out.

I shot this from across the staging lanes with a Nikkor 200mm-500mm zoom. Never noticed Zak Cook was looking directly at the camera until I processed the shot.

From the West stands. Was fortunate to keep most of the car in focus as it blazed down the track. Who doesn’t like a 1957 Chevy?
